Welcome to the new!

I’ve had a fabulous summer filled with performances on the rooftops of Portland’s Pearl District, at the renowned Chamber Music Northwest summer festival, and even with the legendary Weird Al Yankovic.

This fall brings three groundbreaking performances with Third Angle New Music, beginning with our September 12 season opener “In Wildness,” an eye-opening concert addressing the affect of global warming on our planet’s poles. Next up is “Homecomings,” a celebration of Portland composers including four new commissions and a collaboration with Oregon’s Poet Laureate Kim Stafford. Finally, we’ll get funky in “Back in the Groove” at Jack London Revue, a downtown jazz club that’s about to be hit with some Reich and Jacob TV, and other contemporary composers.

Add in Scheherazade and The Nutcracker with Oregon Ballet Theatre and working on the Alchemy Project—my latest undertaking with Cerulean Duo partner Mario Díaz-and this promises to be a busy fall! Special thanks to the Regional Arts & Culture Council for their support of our project.

Hope you all enjoy the fall, and I can’t wait to see you at these wonderful shows!
